Challenge
Expand Shady Grove’s Outpatient Laboratory and increase workflow efficiency by establishing a better separation of the Surgical Pathology lab and the Main lab and improved access to specimens, staff and services, while increasing the size of the blood bank.
Solution
The need to remain operational during renovation led to on-site work sessions with Lab leadership and key staff to review three alternate layouts, compare cost and discuss schedule impacts.
Result
The Outpatient Laboratory Expansion Study allowed Shady Grove to identify the optimum phasing and locations for multiple projects as well as reach their project goals.
