Challenge
In keeping with the latest procedures for its research and teaching areas to ensure the highest-quality patient care, the facility needed to redesign its Surgical Pathology Laboratory to create a modern, more efficient space.
Solution
A two-phase renovation ensured the lab remained operational and infection control provisions were followed. Each phase included three parts: demolition, construction and move-in.
Result
An open floor plan and modular work stations within the lab, as well as an adjacent teaching lab with slide archives and office space, provide researchers more collaboration opportunities and future flexibility.
