Challenge
Universal Health Services (UHS) currently operates over 100 behavioral health hospitals nationwide. Serving adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, they have been experiencing increasing daily census and asked Array to assist with evaluating upgrades at multiple sites.
Solution
Recognizing the need to support different populations, we recommended ‘flex’ beds between the new and existing units. These beds can be utilized by different populations as census demands.
Result
The upgrades improved the utilization of existing space, creating more community and outpatient areas, allowing UHS to serve a larger number of patients.
