Challenge
Originally viewed as a growing retirement community, Destin Beach, FL also has a significant population of young families. Based on our previous experience with the system at another hospital, Array was asked to assist with the design of a 50,000 SF addition Birthing Center.
Solution
We worked closely with hospital staff to ensure brand consistency between the locations and provide an amenity rich environment conducive to the birthing process through patient empowerment, focus on comfort, family involvement, and a connection to nature.
Result
The expansive lobby provides a grand and welcoming entrance to the new Family Birth Center, as well as connectivity to the main hospital. The upper floor features a full-service birthing center, complete with family amenities including a children’s play room, a resource center, and a respite area. These new features are making Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast a destination for growing families across the region.
