The Delaware Psychiatric Center’s 135-acre Holloway Campus could no longer provide their desired high level of care in their aging and outdated facility. Among the facility deficiencies that Array was tasked with correcting were patient rooms that were too small, treatment areas that could not accommodate new equipment, and inadequate family space for patient interaction.
Array completed a Facilities Master Plan and designed a new 205-bed facility featuring four pods devoted to distinct populations: gero-psych, long term acute care, chronic and transitional.
The arrangement of the four pods along a central connecting spine creates a treatment mall that also provides de-institutionalized gathering spaces for patients and visitors. The project is awaiting funding by the State of Delaware.
