The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, PA is implementing several patient-focused improvements to their busy campus. Being an integral team member on these projects allows Array to seamlessly invest time spent on campus projects to the VA’s best interests. Our knowledge of the campus allows for swift decision-making on infrastructure and connectivity issues, as well as coordination with consultants.
Between outpatient and emergency care projects, Array is involved on almost every patient floor of the main Medical Center building. Patient travel paths, new front doors and locating complementary services adjacent to each other has been a challenging and rewarding experience. Adding a 94-bed Community Living Center adjacent to the main building and influencing the site design allows us to positively affect many residents and visitors of the campus.
Several clinic spaces, including surgical, oncology and wound care are being renovated to enhance patient and staff comfort, flow and throughput. Expansion of the Emergency Department will provide state-of-the-art, high quality treatment services for walk-ins and ambulance arrivals while increasing overall department size to meet current demands.
