Among the several patient-focused improvements implemented at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes Barre is the renovation of their Oncology Clinic program. The mission was to provide a larger infusion space and waiting room, as well as exam rooms, offices and support spaces as identified by the VA staff.
Array completed this project in two phases to provide a completed Oncology Infusion space prior to renovating the existing infusion and new waiting area. Opening up the middle of the main oncology floor created clear lines of sight to the infusion bays.
To provide an inviting, hospitable atmosphere for patients, families and staff, Array selected state-of-the-art lighting fixtures, which, while aesthetically pleasing, also provide life cycle cost value through low energy consumption. Additionally, Array used environmentally-friendly finishes, both in material and in life cycle maintenance, to ensure durable interior finishes that keep within the VA’s standards.
