Challenge
Located in central New Jersey, this suburban six-story, 570,000 SF new hospital with an integrated 330,000 SF Medical Office Building, serves a diverse population – including seniors and families with small children. Array was tasked with creating a “second front door” at the Emergency Department entrance for this new community hospital, while enhancing the patient experience with a “no-wait ED.”
Solution
We located the 28,000 SF Emergency Department to allow future expansion without impacting other departments. Featuring bedside charting and separate adult and pediatric treatment zones, the ED contains all universal, private exam rooms with sliding glass break-away doors and features a dedicated imaging area.
Result
The Center for Neurologic Emergency Medicine is also located at this ED and was recognized by The Joint Commission for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions, including stroke, heart attack, heart failure and surgical care. Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell was the only New Jersey and Pennsylvania hospital, and one of only eight in the country, to have achieved recognition for excellence in stroke care.
LEED Gold Certified – Capital Health Hopewell is one of 28 hospitals in the country to receive LEED Platinum or Gold status.
